Destiny’s Child was an American girl group whose final and best-known line-up comprised Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams.
Destiny’s Child was launched into mainstream recognition following the 1999 release of their best-selling second album, The Writing’s on the Wall, which contained the number-one singles “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name”.
Well we all know what happened to Beyoncé, she has released 6 solo studio albums and a staggering 65 singles since Destiny’s Child, she married rapper Jay-Z in 2008, has a net worth of $465 million dollars and has been photographed pouring a $25,000 dollar bottle of champagne out while she floats around in a spa.
Kelly Rowland released her first solo album in 2002 while Destiny’s Child was on hiatus, and her second in 2005 when Destiny’s Child disbanded. These albums spawned global hits such as “Dilemma” a collaboration with rapper Nelly, “Work”, “Like This” and she featured in David Guetta’s “When Love Takes Over”. In total Kelly has released 4 solo studio albums, and appeared in several films including Freddy VS Jason. Kelly’s net worth however is a mere $20 million dollars, which would appear to be loose change to her Destiny’s Child co-star Beyoncé Knowles.
But whatever happened to the third member of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams?
Well if you haven’t heard anything from Michelle Williams, it’s probably because after Destiny’s Child, she became a gospel singer! Williams has released 4 studio albums, just like Kelly Rowland, however it would seem she has had much less commercial success. Michelle has been nominated for and won several awards for her gospel albums, and has also appeared in a number of Broadway musicals including Chicago. Michelle’s net worth is estimated to be a humble $8 million dollars.
Clearly being Beyoncé is the key to success.
